Other engines need almost constant attention. Dealer service, oil changes, belt adjustments, winterising. It adds up, not only in time you spend hauling it back and forth to the dealer, but also in terms of cost.

E-TEC is different. It requires no scheduled dealer maintenance for 3 years or 300 hours. None. No oil changes. No belts to adjust (there are none). In fact, the E-TEC's entire head assembly consists of only two parts. Compare that to the lmost 200 parts you'll find in a competing 4-stroke engine, and you start to get the idea.

To help stay maintenance-free, all Evinrude E-TEC outboard engines feature the S.A.F.E. (Speed Adjusting Failsafe Electronics) information and alarm system. It reduces engine RPM in case of emergency to prevent engine damage and protect your investment. And when it comes time to winterise, you can do it yourself.
